Rihanna to make film debut in Battleship

Def Jam Pop star Rihanna will star in upcoming blockbuster Battleship.

The singer will star in the film alongside Taylor Kitsch, Alexander Skargard and Tom Arnold.

Filming will now begin in Hawaii in August and Rihanna admits she has long dreamed of starring in an action film.

Battleship is due for release in 2012.
